An Etobicoke man was the first to cross the finish line at the Mississauga Marathon.
Joe Campanelli posted a winning time of two hours, 32 minutes and 52 seconds.
Thousands of runners hit the streets for the Mississauga Marathon Sunday. The race got underway at 7:00 a.m. and ended, along with resulting road closures, around 2:00 p.m.
The course began at city hall, headed west to Mississauga Road, then south past the University of Toronto Mississauga campus and the Mississauga Golf and Country Club. It ended by winding around to the waterfront at Lakefront Promenade Park.
