Detectives are investigating after a body was found Sunday morning at the Kentucky Derby.

The body, believed to be that of a man, was found in a barn at Churchill Downs around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Located in barn number eight, the body was found only a few barns away from where Canadian-owned Kentucky Derby winner “I’ll Have Another” is kept.

As of now, Louisville Police Spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says the cause of death is unknown.

“At this time we are currently awaiting the coroner so we can have a specific cause of death, until that time, we are treating it as a death investigation,” Smiley said.

The body was located only hours after the track hosted the 138th Kentucky Derby.
