A coroner’s report on the two women found dead in a Travelodge motel in Barrie has revealed they were both stabbed in the neck.

The bodies were found at around 2 p.m. Wednesday at a Travelodge motel on Bayfield Street, near Highway 400.

Police charged a 22-year-old man with two counts of first-degree murder.

The accused was also found in the same room suffering from injuries. He is expected to recover.

Barrie police told 680News the suspect and two female victims were known to each other.

“The two victims were 52-year-old female — we believe she is from the Alberta province — as well as a 32-year-old female,” Barrie police const. Toni Dufour said.

The two women were aged 52 and 32, and were from Alberta, although the 32 year old had recently moved to Barrie.

The 22-year-old suspect faces two counts of first degree murder, Constable Toni Dufour told 680News.

“We believe that this 22-year-old male is originally from British Columbia and has as well moved to Barrie recently,” Dufour explained.

Autopsies are being done on the two victims to confirm how they were killed.

Police are still trying to contact the victim’s familes and no no names have been released.
