Mayor Rob Ford’s “Cut the Waist” challenge got off to a great start, but over the past few months there’s been weight re-gained and several weigh-ins missed.

Experts have said that’s fairly normal and taking the weight off and keeping it off is never easy.

Ford was one hour late for his weigh-in Monday and the scale showed that he had lost two pounds and a total of 20 pounds since January.

“It’s lifestyle changes that you’re making and moderation. You’re not going to be successful if you’re eating broccoli and cauliflower three times a day,” Bonnie Jasper, the chair of the health and wealthness programs at Centennial College, said.

Time is running out for the mayor since his goal is to lose 50 pounds by June 18.
