More Canadian soldiers committed suicide in 2011 than at any other time since the mid 1990s, according to the military.
There was a total of 19 suicides among Canadian personnel in 2011 whereas in 2010, there were 12.
There were 31 cases of attempted suicide in 2011 in addition to those who died, The Toronto Star has reported.
The military examines each suicide through a formal board of inquiry. They look for anything that could have contributed to the death.
