The latest Nanos poll suggests the Harper Conservatives are barely maintaining a lead over the NDP with the support of 34.7 per cent of Canadians.
The New Democrats are just behind at 32.4 per cent.
Nanos said the Conservatives and the NDP are statistically tied in terms of ballot share.
The Liberals are in third spot with just over 23.3 per cent support, followed by the Green Party at 4.2 per cent and the Bloc Québécois at 3.9 per cent.
The poll suggests NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair’s recent election gave the party a boost with Mulcair now ahead of interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae, in terms of leader popularity.
However, Mulcair remains 12 points behind Harper.
