Around 927,000 people in the province still don’t have a family doctor, according to the Ontario Medical Association.
That figure includes 132,000 children.
The OMA also said Ontario is short more than 1,000 doctors.
OMA president Dr. Stewart Kennedy is raising concerns about the impact of the government’s plan to impose fee cuts on physicians and the effect it will have on the province’s ability to recruit and retain physicians.
