TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police and schools in the city’s east end are on high alert for a possible sexual predator after two similar incidents.
The first happened on April 18.
An 11-year-old girl was stopped while walking to school on a residential street near Birchmount Road and Danforth Avenue area.
A man in a car tried to engage the girl in an inappropriate conversation.
The Toronto Sun said there are also unconfirmed reports of a second incident days later involving a Grade 11 student waiting for a bus in the Warden Avenue and Kingston Road road area.
Police have issued a public safety alert and at least four elementary schools. One high school in the area has sent notices home to parents asking them to emphasize the need for children to be alert and aware.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416−808−7474, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416−222−TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637), or leave a tip on TPS Facebook page.
