Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) will soon have $10 million to invest in its child and youth programs, according to a report in the Globe and Mail.
The donation — from philanthropist and child advocate Margaret McCain — will be used to hire more specialists and fund crisis intervention and emergency programs.
The hospital’s child and youth services will now operate under the new Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health, the paper said.
Margaret McCain was married to Wallace McCain, co-founder of McCain Foods and former CEO of Maple Leaf Foods, until his death last year.
The donation will be announced Wednesday.
