The big countdown is on until London lights the flame kicking off the summer Olympics.

A giant set of Olympic rings has been unveiled at Kew Gardens in west London Wednesday, made up of 20,000 flowers.

It’s all part of the buildup as London gets ready to welcome the world. The motto of these games has now been revealed: “Inspire a generation.”

“The star attraction of the Olympic park is the stadium itself,” the BBC’s Karen Ginonne explained. “It has an 80,000 capacity and the finishing touches are being put to it here.”

But despite all the excitement, there is still a lot to be done, since four-billion people are expected to watch the games around the world.

Officials are still working to set up a further 200,000 temporary seats and 10,000 portable toilets around the city.

The summer games will be three times larger than last year’s winter games in Vancouver.

“The summer games are going to be three times bigger, so there’s a lot more happening,” Sportsnet’s Rob Corte explained. “I think this is where the Olympic consortium can really show its strength in our our ability with all our various platforms to show live sporting events.”

Technology will play a huge role in the coverage of the games.

“There’s an insatiable appetite by Olympic and sports fans,” president of broadcast for Rogers Scott Moore said. “They want to see who they want to watch, when they want to watch it, where they want to watch it.”

There will be 5,000 hours of coverage across multiple platforms.
