TORONTO, Ont. – A heads up for anyone who uses the streetcar on Queens Quay West between Bathurst Street and Lower Spadina Avenue.
For the next three weeks the TTC will be repairing the streetcar tracks there, meaning the 509 and 510 routes will start and end their trips at the Spadina and Queens Quay loop.
Shuttle buses will replace streetcar service on Queens Quay between Exhibition Loop and Union Station.
The work is expected to continue until May 6.
509 Harbourfront
From Monday, April 16 until Sunday, May 6, streetcars operate only between Spadina / Queens Quay Loop and Union Station.
Eastbound cars skip their regular stops:
Exhibition Loop on the Exhibition Loop access road at Strachan Avenue, on Fleet Street east of Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street, on Queens Quay West east of Bathurst Street, across from Dan Leckie Way and at Lower Spadina Avenue.
Westbound cars skip their regular stops:
On the Exhibition Loop access road at Strachan Avenue, on Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street,
on Queens Quay West west of Bathurst Street and Dan Leckie Way and at Lower Spadina Avenue.
Shuttle buses replace the cars west of Spadina / Queens Quay Loop, operating between Union Station and Exhibition Loop.
509 / 510 Harbourfront shuttle buses
From Monday, April 16 until Sunday, May 6, buses operate between Exhibition Loop and Union Station.
Eastbound buses start their trips in Exhibition Loop, then proceed:
Eastward along the Exhibition Loop access road and Fleet Street;
Southward along Bathurst Street;
Eastward along Queens Quay West;
Northward along Bay Street;
Westward along Wellington Street West;
Southward along Simcoe Street; and then
Eastward along Front Street West to Bay Street (beside Union Station), ending their trips.
Westbound buses start their trips on Front Street West west of Bay Street, then proceed:
Eastward along Front West;
Southward along Bay Street;
Westward along Queens Quay West;
Northward along Bathurst Street;
Westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West;
Northward along Fort York Boulevard; and then
Westward along Fleet Street and the Exhibition Loop access road to Exhibition Loop, ending their trips.
Buses drop off and pick up passengers at stops beside the curb, instead of at the centre-road “island” streetcar stops.
510 Spadina
From Monday, April 16 until Sunday, May 6, streetcars operate only between Spadina Station and Spadina / Queens Quay Loop.
South and eastbound cars skip their regular stops:
On Queens Quay West east of Rees, Lower Simcoe and York Streets and at Queens Quay and Union streetcar stations.
West and northbound cars skip their regular stops:
At Union and Queens Quay streetcar stations, on Queens Quay West west of York, Lower Simcoe and Rees Streets.
Streetcars operating along the 509 Harbourfront route continue to serve these stops. Also, shuttle buses operate between Union Station and Exhibition Loop.
