Air Canada is working to resume a full flight schedule Saturday, after being forced to cancel 75 flights Friday due to illegal strike action by the pilots.
Several cancellations and delays were posted at Pearson Airport Saturday morning, due to what the airline called planes being out of position as a result of Friday’s job action.
It’s not clear whether any of the problems were related to any sort of new or continuing job action.
Air Canada won an order from the Canada Industrial Relations Board Friday, declaring that certain pilots were taking part in an illegal strike.
The order also required the pilots to end the work stoppage, which caused chaos for thousands of passengers across the country.
Several travel agents have cautioned that Air Canada needs to resolve its labour woes quickly to avoid clients deciding against booking with the airline.
If you are flying Saturday, you’ll want to check your flight status, which can be done here.
