Lawsuits filed in a Texas court this week accuses Apple and Research in Motion, among other technology companies, of infringing on another company’s patents for swiping, double tapping and scrolling on touch screen smartphones and tablet computers.
The Toronto Star reports Touchscreen Gestures has also sued Samsung and HTC, according to the most recent filings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. They say the patents are held by a Taiwan-based firm, Sentelic.
Both RIM and Apple have yet to comment on the lawsuits.
This is the second lawsuit filed against Apple this week, after being accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of colluding with publishers to fix the price of e-books on Wednesday.
