After a weekend of disruptions for Air Canada passengers, it appears flights are operating normally, Monday.

The airline’s online departures schedule for Pearson International Airport in Toronto showed just a few flight delays. However, anyone with a flight scheduled for Monday should check the status of their flight online.

Dozens of flights were cancelled or delayed over the weekend as pilots called in sick.

Most of the cancelled or delayed flights originated at Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport, although there were cancellations reported elsewhere like Toronto’s Pearson Airport.

Airline spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick said while weather, a fire at Pearson and other factors affected operations, “some impact was the result of a higher-than usual pilot book-offs.”

Air Canada said Sunday that it had asked the Canada Industrial Relations Board to intervene, saying it could not “condone such activities as part of industrial action to disrupt our operations.”

The pilots’ union did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Air Canada and its pilots are currently locked in a contract dispute that officials in Ottawa have sent to binding arbitration.
