Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Toronto

TORONTO, Ont. – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto and most of Southern Ontario due to thunderstorms with small hail.
The severe thunderstorm watch for the GTA ended just before 11:30 p.m., Thursday.
Scattered thunderstorms will continue to rumble across southern and eastern Ontario as very warm air from the south battles with cooler air in place over most of eastern Ontario.
Environment Canada says marble sized hail, frequent lightning and brief but very heavy downpours may be produced in the thunderstorms.
Severe weather in the GTA moved out across Lake Ontario after a morning show in the sky.
Brantford got large pieces of hail Thursday morning.
