Some Canadians are “stuck” on the island of St. Maarten because of engine problems with their cruise ship, Tuesday.
Jack Ungar from Toronto is on board the Caribbean Princess.
“So far it’s been absolutely no problem cause it’s a beautiful island, there’s beaches here, the sun is shining. Nobody is complaining yet but I suspect that if we’re not gone by tonight we’ll hear a lot of people start to complain.”
Ungar says the engine problems began Monday, when the ship arrived in St. Maarten five hours late. He says the crew is bringing in experts to try to fix it.
It has been a tough year for cruise ships, with the Costa Concordia tragedy in January, and a fire in the engine room of the Costa Allegra last month. Earlier this month, a Canadian woman went missing while on board a cruise ship near Florida.
