Thursday is International Women’s Day and celebrations will be held across the GTA and all over the world.
Groups will gather at the Humber Bay Bridge at 5:30 p.m. and at the Bloor St. Viaduct from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with banners and signs for the “Join me on the Bridge” campaign.
It’s grown into an international event, but started in 2010 when women from Rwanda and the Congo gathered on a shared bridge in symbolic gesture of peace.
A rally is set for 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. outside of Queen’s Park.
