The hit television show The Bachelor is coming to Canada, with the premiere season of the original reality series The Bachelor Canada set to debut this Fall.
The nine-episode reality series will launch exclusively on Citytv, produced by Vancouver-based Force Four Entertainment.
680News reporter Jaime Pulfer spoke with Chris Harrison, the host of the American Bachelor franchise, who said this show will be a great opportunity for Canadian fans to enjoy the series.
“There are so many Canadian fans that I love to talk to,” Harrison said. “Honestly just getting off the plane and walking through the airport I realized the love for this show and how popular it is up here.”
The Bachelor Canada is based on the highly successful The Bachelor franchise, currently in its 16th season on Citytv and OMNI Television.
“The Bachelor has long been a fan favourite on Citytv and we look forward to putting a Canadian spin on this thriving franchise,” said Claire Freeland, Director of Original Programming, Rogers Media, and Executive Producer of The Bachelor Canada. “Canada is brimming with eligible bachelors and bachelorettes and we’re excited to offer them the opportunity to embark on their own quest for love through this entertaining series.”
Beginning Monday, Citytv is kicking off a nationwide search for Canada’s most eligible bachelorette. Casting call information and requirements are available here.
The series is currently in the pre-production phase and casting and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
