TORONTO – If you were actually able to get out of bed early this morning, you may have been thinking, “what a beautiful sky to start the new year.” However, that’s not the case anymore.
680′s meteorologist Harold Hosein said, a new weather system is heading into Toronto, the GTA and cottage country.
“The cold air should start flooding into southwestern Ontario this evening around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. and it will be changing over to snow around that time,” said Hosein.
The heavy snow will hit the Georgian Bay and Lake Heron area around midnight.
“After midnight is when we will start seeing the whiteout conditions and dangerous driving conditions, specifically in the area between Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay,” said Hosein.
