Take a dip into cool waters on New Years Day; Great Canadian Chill raises funds for pediatric cancer research

TORONTO – In an effort to raise funds to combat pediatric cancer, the Sears Great Canadian Chill challenges everyone in the Toronto and Ottawa areas to dip into cool waters on New Years Day.

It’s the annual Polar Bear plunge where the event aims to raise funds that will support research to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.

The funds raised will support pediatric cancer-focused research through the Sears Canada Charitable Foundation.

People will have the opportunity to rush into the chilly waters of Lake Ontario at Woodbine Beach in Toronto and into the Ottawa River at Britannia Beach in Ottawa on New Years Day.

There will be live entertainment, food and family activities. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume and top fundraiser.
