Woman drowns in condo swimming pool in North York

TORONTO, Ont. – A woman has drowned in the swimming pool of a condo in North York.

Police from 32 division have confirmed the woman, 35, drowned in the pool at 65 Spring Garden Avenue, a condo in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area.

Reports indicate police were called to the building by a security guard around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Staff at the condo reported they found the woman in the pool without vital signs. CPR was performed but the woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the woman, who was a resident in the building, was alone in the pool and had no visible signs of injury.

There is a good chance the situation was caught on video, and police say they do not suspect any foul play at this time.
