TORONTO, Ont. – Two young people could be in hot water after an early-morning drama on Lake Ontario, Tuesday.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were rescued from the water just before 5 a.m. by the Toronto Police Marine Unit.
Toronto police told 680News their three-metre-long rowboat may have been stolen. Charges are pending.
The pair was found six kilometres off Ontario Place. The boat wasn’t equipped with life-jackets.
Police said the two are lucky to be alive because winds were pushing the pair further from shore when they finally called 911 for help.
