With a provincial election looming, selling booze at corner stores could be a hot topic.
The latest Angus Reid poll finds that a majority of Ontarians are all for the convenience.
Ontario convenience store owners are pushing to get the issue of selling beer and wine at corners stores flowing on the campaign trail.
“If you’re throwing a family barbeque or a picnic or anything, rather than having to jump in a car and drive 15 kilometres to a beer store, you could go to your local convenience store like we see in Quebec and we see in Newfoundland,” Dave Bryans, president of the Ontario Convenience Stores Association, explained.
As of Wednesday, a Facebook page called “Free Our Beer” is up and running and already has over 100 “likes.”
