Police lay attempted murder charges in shooting and stabbing incident

TORONTO – Toronto police have laid attempted murder charges in a shooting and stabbing incident in the east end of the city last Monday.

Police say three young men were leaving the East York Town Centre at around 8 p.m. when they were attacked by an unknown number of people.

One of the men was shot in the leg with a handgun, another was stabbed twice and a third person was stabbed in the eye.

Toronto residents Walid Tarzi, 21, and Shoaib Asakzai, 20, were arrested this morning.

They were scheduled to make a court appearance today.
