Thrashers move to Winnipeg reportedly a done deal

Sportsnet Radio The Fan590’s Stephen Brunt says an agreement to sell the Atlanta Thrashes to True North Sports and Entertainment and to relocate the team to Winnipeg is a done deal.

The official announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday.

However, the NHL and True North Sports and Entertainment are disputing the report.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told The Canadian Press he is not confirming the report, saying “as far as we know, there is nothing done.”

True North Sports and Entertainment owns and operates the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and the MTS Centre arena, which would become the NHL team’s new home.
