TORONTO, On. – A late night vote by members of the Toronto District School Board have reversed the ban on electronic devices in the classroom.
According to the new rules, cellphones and laptops may be used if the individual teacher allows it and if they are not causing a distraction.
The new rules take effect in September.
Many TDSB members argued that electronic devices, including cellphones can effectively be used for learning.
