TORONTO, Ont. – An Ontario court has given approval for a $750 million class action lawsuit to proceed against General Motors on behalf of 200 of their former dealers.
The employees and their dealerships were terminated as a result of the automaker’s 2009 financial bailout by Ottawa and Queen’s Park.
The lawsuit claims that dealers did not have enough time to consult with lawyers and negotiate collectively before accepting GM’s terms for termination.
