One lucky 680News listener wins Grammy Award contest

TORONTO – A few weeks ago, 680News teamed up with KiSS 92.5 to start a contest that would send one listener to the 2011 Grammy Awards.
680News music reporter Rudy Blair, who will also be reporting from the Grammys, spoke to the lucky winner on Friday.
Ahmed Shawn Heywood, 28, of Toronto was the lucky winner and told 680News he doesn’t usually enter contests.
“I said, let me just text this number and see what happens. All of a sudden I get a text message from you guys [680News]. Then I called back and I was like, oh my God,” said Heywood.
Heywood won a trip for two to Los Angeles, three night stay at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza and two tickets to the Grammy Awards.
Heywood who plans to take his girlfriend with him said he hopes to meet Beyonce and Jay-Z.
“I’m going to have to fight Jay-Z if I have to right?”
680News asked Heywood about bringing his girlfriend, Heywood replied, “I’m going to have to tell her I’m going to the washroom. [I will have to] Tell her I’m going to have to come back.”
