Possible arson at west end two-alarm blaze

TORONTO – The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called to investigate the two-alarm blaze that happened on West Lodge, near Queen Street West and Lansdowne Avenue, Sunday morning.

150 residents were evacuated from the building just after 3 a.m. and forced into the cold, frigid weather. TTC buses were called to shelter the residents.

Toronto police told 680News that arson may be the cause.

Only some residents were allowed back into the building, while others waited due smoke damage in some units.

Police told 680News that one person was treated for smoke inhalation; however no one was seriously injured.

Ontario’s Fire Marshall is still investigating the cause.
