Peel police search for missing deaf, partially blind woman

BRAMPTON, On. – Peel police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 33-year-old woman in the midst of the latest extreme cold weather alert.

Officers said Monika Huizenga went missing in downtown Brampton, Friday around 3 p.m.

Police are concerned for her safety because she is partially blind and deaf, Constable Wayne Patterson told 680News.

“We have some concern that she’s out having to bare the elements tonight.  If anyone out there who knows her or knows where she is, we just need her or someone to give us a call and let us know that she is safe and warm.”

She is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, 4’9” tall, weighing 140 lbs with black hair that is long and straight. She has distinctive eyes in that her right eye is brown and her left eye is grey and cloudy. She was last seen wearing a black coat
