Hamilton airport seizes $400,000 worth of drugs

Border services officers have seized heroin, Chinese cigarettes and amphetamine-like khat from East Africa at the Hamilton airport.

The Canadian border service agency said heroin worth about $400,000 was seized in December after an officer noticed something odd about X-ray images of a courier shipment.

A drug sniffing dog led officers to the heroin hidden inside metal exhaust pipes.    The kaht was found in shoes and the Chinese cigarettes were found in a shipment marked “men’s clothing.”
