TORONTO, Ont. – Workers at the Delta Chelsea have reached a tentative agreement.

The two sides sat at the bargaining table through the night until they reached an agreement at 7 a.m., Sunday.

This comes after political leaders of the area called for a truce between the union and hotel management, Saturday.

The tentative deal averts the continuation of a strike or lockout threat.

The workers reached a strike/lockout deadline two weeks ago, and voted 95% to authorize a strike earlier this summer.

Several hotels staged one day strikes through the G20 and the Toronto International Film Festival, garnering support from celebrities and bringing their issues to the public.
