Provincial police have closed the book on a driver alleged to have been reading while driving on Highway 401.

Police at the Chatham-Kent detachment say they received a call, Thursday, about a driver with the interior light on who appeared to be reading a book.

Constable Aaron McPhail says an officer caught up with a car that was straddling the centre lane, with the driver looking down.

24-year-old Jonathan Guy of Merlin, Ontario, is charged with careless driving.

Police did not say what the man was reading.
