Foreign Affairs Canada warns about travelling to Mexico

OTTAWA, Ont. – Canadian Foreign Affairs is warning travellers to avoid the northern part of Mexico near the U.S. border due to the violence in the area.

The region has a continued threat of violence related to drug trafficking.

Thestar.com is reporting thugs have been targeting anyone travelling in SUV’s or pickup trucks.

Canadians are being advised that “shootouts, attacks, and illegal roadblocks may occur at any time” and they should avoid all non-essential travel to the area.
