TORONTO – Thousands of music fans are expected to gather outside Union Station Wednesday evening where Canadian rockers Metric are planning a free show.
Samsung Mobile officially announced the concert at Union Square Plaza, Tuesday, without naming the band.
However a source with the group has confirmed that Metric will be playing the event.
Thestar.com reports police tried to keep the band name secret over concerns the huge crowds could impede traffic.
Samsung had been hinting at the identity of the band in the weeks leading up to the announcement through their twitter page, using titles of Metric songs such as “Eclipse” and “Stadium Love” in their posts.
The official announcement is expected to be made Wednesday.
The show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.and will kick off the bands short North American tour.
