Rocket attack injures ISAF military personnel at Kandahar Airfield

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Some military staff have been injured in a rocket attack at Kandahar Airfield.

In a statement, the International Security Assistance Force said a small number of military personnel were wounded after the rocket was fired at the base on Thursday night.

ISAF says most injuries were minor and the wounded were receiving medical treatment.

It is against ISAF’s policy to report on the nationalities and number of those injured in rocket attacks.

The Canadian military does not release information on whether Canadians were injured in rocket attacks.

Two weeks ago, a number of military personnel and civilians were injured in a rocket and ground attack at Kandahar Airfield that lasted four hours but failed to penetrate the base.

Isolated rocket attacks are commonplace at the sprawling base, but they are often wildly inaccurate.
