Missing Toronto woman possibly spotted in home neighbourhood

TORONTO, Ont. – Police believe a Toronto woman who vanished from her North York home two weeks ago, was spotted in the Don Mills and 401 area – near her Graydon Hall Drive home, on Sunday.

Investigators at 33 Division told 680News that they received an anonymous tip around 2 p.m. from someone who saw a woman fitting 22 year old Elizabeth Chirwa’s description.

As a result, cruisers are stationed around her home and the nearby Don Mills subway station, and officers have asked to examine TTC surveillance camera footage.

The woman, who suffers from schizophrenia, may have also been spotted at the Eaton Centre and the City Hall parking garage last Saturday.

Police set up command posts at the Eaton Centre earlier this weekend with the hope of finding her.

She is described as black (light skinned),  5’3, medium build, approximately 140 pounds, pockmarks on the right side of her face, straight black hair in a ponytail (she may have hair extensions), ears are pierced but does not wear earrings, and she may be carrying a small black handbag. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie, black pants and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-3300, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
