Toronto teacher charged with sexual exploitation involving girl, 17

TORONTO, Ont. – A 40-year-old teacher at a Toronto high school is facing sexual exploitation charges.

Timothy Dingwall, a teacher at Harbord Collegiate Institute, is now on home assignment.

Toronto District School Board spokeswoman Kelly Baker says that the school called the police after hearing allegations.

Baker says the teacher has not been at the school since the allegations were made.

She says students at the school were sent home with a letter informing parents of the allegations.

According to the Criminal Code of Canada, sexual exploitation is an offence that involves a person in a position of authority or trust over a 16 or 17-year-old sexually touching that young person or dependent.
