Buble snags four Junos, K’naan, Drake, Billy Talent other winners

ST. JOHN’S. Nfld. – Michael Buble’s star shone through the fog at the 39th annual Juno Awards in St. John’s, Nfld.

The Vancouver crooner nabbed a leading four trophies, including album of the year and pop album of the year for his blockbuster “Crazy Love,” single of the year for “Haven’t Met You Yet” and the Juno fan choice award.

The 34-year Buble now has a total of 10 Junos.

Two Toronto hip-hop artists split much of the remaining spoils, with Drake picking up trophies for rap recording of the year and new artist of the year, and K’naan winning songwriter of the year and artist of the year.

Toronto new-wave outfit Metric won group of the year and alternative album of the year.

Buble, Drake, Metric and K’naan all performed at last night’s televised gala.

Teen-pop heart-throb Justin Bieber also took the stage, eliciting ecstatic shrieks from his young fans.

The 16-year old mop-topped crooner was up for three Junos, but didn’t win any.

Mississauga’s Billy Talent took home the crystal trophy for rock album of the year.

Bryan Adams accepted the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award from London where the volcanic ash cloud kept him grounded.

And April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
