TORONTO, Ont. – It’s the drive that stocks the shelves for the summer.
The spring drive of the Daily Bread Food Bank continues this weekend, and the need has been great.
“We’ve experienced a demand over 17 per cent at our food bank over the past year. That has put a strain on the system so it’s really important that we meet our goals this year,” said Gail Nyberg, Executive Director of the Daily Bread Food Bank.
The goal is to raise $250,000 pounds and $250,000 dollars. So far, about $100,000 pounds and dollars have been raised.
Canned food can be dropped off at any Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and Value Mart across the city or any firehall in the GTA until April 15.
