Canadians donate $113-million so far for Haiti

Canadians have come through for Haitian earthquake victims in an amazing way.

International co-operation minister Bev Oda said Canadians have donated $113-million and counting to charities involved in Haitian earthquake relief.

Oda has urged potential donors to “make that one final effort, one big push” and contribute before the federal government’s Friday deadline for matching donations dollar-for-dollar.

She said there are many qualified Canadian-based organizations working in Haiti that could use the money.

Twenty-seven Canadians have been confirmed dead among the 200,000 killed in the January 12 quake; another 75 are still missing.
