About 70,000 Dorel baby car seat carriers recalled due to loose handle

About 70,000 Dorel baby car seat carriers are being recalled in Canada after several reports in the United States of the child restraint handle coming loose.

There have been at least three injuries to babies in the United States, including bumps, bruises and a head injury, but there have been no complaints or injuries reported in Canada.

Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., has received reports that the child restraint handle is fully or partially coming off the products.

The U.S.-based company is offering a free repair kit to fix the loose handle.

The recall involves Safety 1st, Cosco, Eddie Bauer and Disney branded infant car seat carriers with certain model numbers.

The seat was manufactured from January 2008 to April 2009.
