The Toronto Blue Jays have completed the Roy Halladay trade to Philadelphia Phillies.
Halladay has been shipped off to the Philadelphia Phillies along with $6-million (U.S.) in exchange for three prospects. The move is part of a complex four-team transaction.
The Blue Jays dealt one of the players — outfielder Michael Taylor — to the Oakland Athletics for infield prospect Brett Wallace.
Staying with the Blue Jays are pitcher Kyle Drabek and catcher Travis d’Arnaud.
The Phillies also sent left-hander Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners for three prospects, including Canadians Phillippe Aumont and Tyson Gillies.
The deal is the first player move of major consequence made by new Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos and officially ushers in a period of rebuilding in Toronto.
